Aida Gomez's Carmen Performance Takes Stage at AKM

The famous "Carmen" production prepared by Spanish dancer and choreographer Aida Gomez was presented to art enthusiasts at the Atatürk Cultural Center (AKM) within the scope of the Istanbul Culture Trail Festival.
Performance Details and Music
In the production choreographed by Aida Gomez, pieces from Georges Bizet's famous opera "Carmen" were featured alongside special works composed specifically for this project by flamenco guitarist and composer Jose Antonio Rodriguez.
Themes and Flamenco Rhythms
Universal themes highlighted by the character of Carmen, such as love, passion, freedom, and rebellion, were conveyed to the audience by blending them with the dynamic rhythms of flamenco dance and Gomez's original stage interpretation.
The Artist's Career Journey
Stepping into her career at a very young age, Aida Gomez began dancing at the Ballet Nacional de Espana at the age of 14 and soon achieved the success of becoming the company's principal dancer.
International Achievements and Awards
Gomez received the title of the institution's youngest artistic director in 1998 at the age of 30, and was deemed worthy of the National Dance Award by the Spanish Ministry of Culture in 2004.
