Akdeniz University Promoted Cultural Heritage at the Hun-Turk Kurultay in Hungary
Academic papers and traditional art practices were featured at the major event held in Hungary.
The team from the Directorate of the Culture, Art, Research, and Application Center of Akdeniz University promoted Turkish culture and art through scientific studies at the Hun-Turk Kurultay held in the city of Bugac, Hungary.
Scientific Presentations Made at the Kurultay
Hosted by the Directorate of the Culture, Art, Research, and Application Center of Akdeniz University, the kurultay saw the participation of 38 academics from approximately 10 universities.
Academics shared important scientific papers regarding Turkish culture and art with participants and made academic evaluations.
Traditional Arts Exhibited Hands-On
In addition to academic presentations, workshop activities and live performances where traditional arts were promoted hands-on were carried out.
Fields such as indigo dyeing, felt making, weaving, marbling, miniature, calligraphy, and painting were demonstrated to visitors.
Steppe Atmosphere and High Participation
The event area, created using traditional tent architecture, drew attention at the kurultay, which was attended by approximately 200,000 people.
Equestrian shows, archery competitions, and battle reenactments successfully reflected the historical steppe atmosphere.

Center Director Prof. Dr. Mehmet Ali Eroğlu met with TIKA President Abdullah Eren to discuss new projects.
During the meeting, an exchange of views took place regarding the promotion of Turkish culture and art on international platforms.
