Alan Cihangir Theatre Takes the Stage with Two Different Plays in the New Season

Independent theatre company Alan Cihangir, founded by Nihan Okutucu and Emek Targan Gürsoy, has completed its preparations for the new season. While continuing to stage the play DNA, the team will premiere the play Almost I Was Happy at the end of November.
The Purpose of Establishment of Independent Theatre
Founded by Nihan Okutucu and Emek Targan Gürsoy, Alan Cihangir was born out of the need of two female actors to create a space where they could freely express themselves in theatre. The institution operates as an interdisciplinary production center hosting various art branches.
Plays to Be Staged in the New Season
Staged last season and adapted and directed by Nihan Okutucu, the play titled DNA will continue to meet audiences this season as well. Adapted from the classic by Pulitzer Prize-winning American author Paul Zindel, this production features Emek Targan Gürsoy, Eda Yazıcı, and Hilal Başak Bol.
The company is preparing to open a new play titled Almost I Was Happy, written by Ozan Ağaç, towards the end of November.
Culture and Arts Activities
Creating a small-scale, independent theatre space inside a historic apartment in Cihangir, the team hosts various forms of production alongside plays, such as workshops, readings, talks, performances, and reading theatre.
Support for Young Actors
Launching a new Shakespeare series for children and creative drama workshops, the duo also supports projects by young actors who have recently graduated from theatre.
