Contemporary Istanbul 2026 is preparing to host Belgian artist Arne Quinze's public sculpture titled Lupine Alpestris at the Sculpture Trail in Tersane Istanbul.
The Work on the Sculpture Trail
Contemporary Istanbul 2026 will host Belgian artist Arne Quinze's public sculpture titled Lupine Alpestris. The 2022 aluminum artwork will be presented to visitors at the Sculpture Trail in Tersane Istanbul.
First Public Presentation
The artist's work, which focuses on the relationship between nature, architecture, and the city, will be exhibited on a public scale for the first time in Istanbul and offered for art lovers' appreciation.
Ruzy Gallery Collaboration
Ruzy Gallery has initiated a long-term collaboration with Arne Quinze in Turkey. While the presentation at Contemporary Istanbul forms the first stage of this partnership, a special selection will also be viewable at the gallery's booth.
Themes of the Lupin Series
Quinze's Lupine series takes its name from the wild lupine flower. The series explores themes such as biodiversity, the power of untamed nature, and resistance against the monotony of urban life.
Relationship Between Nature and Architecture
In the works, nature is treated not merely as an element that needs to be protected, but as an active power capable of changing the form of cities, and this approach comes to the forefront in public spaces.
Future Projects
It was stated that the collaboration will not be limited to Contemporary Istanbul, and a specially designed illuminated public sculpture will be produced for a complex in Beşiktaş.
First Solo Exhibition
Another important pillar of the collaboration will be the artist's first solo exhibition in Istanbul. This exhibition is planned to take place at Ruzy Gallery in 2027.
