Consumer Confidence Index Rose to 91.9 in September
While consumers' economic expectations strengthened in September, a noticeable increase was recorded in the intention to purchase durable consumer goods.
According to the results of the Consumer Tendency Survey prepared in cooperation with the Turkish Statistical Institute and the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, the consumer confidence index increased by 1.3 percent in September compared to the previous month.
Consumer Confidence Recovered in September
The September results of the Consumer Tendency Survey, conducted in partnership with the Turkish Statistical Institute and the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, have been shared with the public. The consumer confidence index, which was 90.8 in August, increased by 1.3 percent in September to reach 91.9.
Shopping and Durable Goods Tendency
When examining the sub-items of the announced data, a notable rise in the intention to purchase durable consumer goods over the next 12 months drew attention. The index in this area strengthened by 3.6 percent, rising from a value of 105.1 to 108.8.
Changes in Future Period Expectations
Limited improvements were also observed in expectations regarding the upcoming one-year period. While the household financial situation expectation increased by 0.6 percent to 93.7, the general economic expectation of the country materialized at 89.8 with a 0.5 percent increase.
Limited Decline in Current Period Sentiment
While a positive picture was drawn for future expectations, a slight relaxation was experienced in consumers' current period sentiment. The current period household financial situation index, which was 75.4 last month, retreated to 75.3 with a limited decrease of 0.1 percent.
