Artist from Kütahya Transmits 25 Years of Expertise into Natural Wooden Toys
Ministry of Culture and Tourism artist İrfan Uğurlu is utilizing his quarter-century of handicraft expertise in the production of natural wooden toys that safeguard children's health.
İrfan Uğurlu, an artist of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and a bearer of intangible cultural heritage in Kütahya, is passing down his handicraft, which he has pursued for about 25 years, to future generations by transforming it entirely into natural wooden toys.
Traditional Handicrafts are Being Passed Down to the Future
Operating in Kütahya, Ministry of Culture and Tourism artist and intangible cultural heritage bearer İrfan Uğurlu continues his efforts to pass on the handicraft he has practiced for about 25 years to future generations. Stating that traditional handicrafts need to be introduced and endeared to children, Uğurlu expressed that he has trained numerous apprentices up to the present day in order to transmit the profession to upcoming generations.
Healthy and Completely Natural Materials
Artist İrfan Uğurlu stated that the main thought behind the emergence of the hand-crafted wooden toys was to offer healthier toys to children. Emphasizing that they use entirely natural materials in production with no chemical substances whatsoever, Uğurlu noted that he works with an approach that prioritizes children's health.
Call to Families for Wood Instead of Plastic
İrfan Uğurlu drew attention to the fact that plastic and chemically painted toys could cause health problems in children in the future. He called on families to choose hand-crafted wooden toys instead of cheap imported plastic products.
