The Golden Horn View Redefined at the Digital Threshold

Designed specially for the 21st edition of Contemporary Istanbul, Seyir brings the real-time view of the Golden Horn into the exhibition space. The artwork offers a threshold that redefines the boundaries between the physical and the digital.

A Three-Dimensional Structure Transforming with the Viewer's Movement

Appearing from a distance as an extension of the space opening towards the Golden Horn, the artwork begins to transform as the viewer approaches. While images from different times appear within the silhouette of the viewer, the landscape is constantly reshaped.

Artist Balkan Karışman's Evaluations on the Artwork

Balkan Karışman stated that Seyir removes the landscape from being a static image and transforms it into a structure rebuilt through the presence of the viewer. The artwork makes the act of looking directly a part of the experience.
