Bear Grylls Starts Work in Ağrı

Globally recognized British adventurer and television host Bear Grylls arrived at the Durupınar Formation area in Ağrı's Doğubayazıt district, where claims regarding Noah's Ark are being investigated. Being in the field with his team as of September 26, Grylls is recording ongoing scientific research for an international documentary project.

Life and Career of Bear Grylls

The British adventurer, whose birth name is Edward Michael Grylls, achieved global fame with his survival documentary series broadcast in Turkey under the name Man vs. Wild. Despite recovering from a severe accident during his military service, Grylls managed to climb to the summit of Mount Everest at the age of 23.

History of the Durupınar Formation

Located near Üzengili Village within the borders of Doğubayazıt and resembling the shape of a ship, this geological formation was noticed by a shepherd in 1948. Officially entering the literature in 1959, this area took the name Durupınar Formation with its 164-meter-high structure consisting of limon.

Academic Cooperation and Field Studies

A comprehensive project was launched with a protocol signed between Ağrı İbrahim Çeçen University and Istanbul Technical University in December 2022. The established expert team joined forces with the Noah's Ark Scans project consisting of U.S. researchers to conduct large-scale field studies in the region.

Laboratory Analyses and Findings

Unlike past surface observations, rock and soil samples taken from the region in this project were examined in ITU laboratories. The analyses detected remains belonging to marine life, clay layers indicating water, and geometric cavities resembling ship chambers.
