Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu's Nazar Bird artwork was transformed into a four-meter mosaic with the participation of hundreds of Istanbul residents at Müze Gazhane as part of August 30 events.
Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu's Nazar Bird artwork, prepared with an artistic understanding focusing on folk culture, was turned into a giant mosaic in a public space through the organization of IMM Culture and IMM Heritage. Hundreds of citizens participated in the three-day work held at Müze Gazhane.
Collective Work and High Interest
Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu's artwork titled Nazar Bird came to life once again as a four-meter mosaic with the joint effort of hundreds of Istanbul residents in a three-day workshop held at Müze Gazhane.
Broadly Participatory Art Workshop
During the event, stones were placed by volunteers with wide participation ranging from the elderly to children. Tables for printing activities were set up for young children, and the artist's grandson Sabahattin Rahmi Eyüboğlu also participated in the work.
Permanent Public Art Work
The mosaic work, completed piece by piece over three days, is planned to be exhibited as a permanent public art piece on the facade of a cultural building in Istanbul.
The Artist's Legacy and Views
The artist's friend Mustafa Pilevneli drew attention to the importance of recreating the artwork with public participation and emphasized that legal guarantees should be brought to art works in urban transformation.
