Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu's works in public spaces compiled

Painter and poet Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu, a pioneering figure of Turkish modern art, did not limit his works to the canvas, transforming buildings and squares into an open-air museum.

Compiled on the 51st anniversary of his passing, this public heritage continues to bring the artist's productions together with wide audiences.

Architectural Works in Istanbul

Among the artist's works that he carried directly onto architectural surfaces starting from the 1950s are many important structures.

The Doğubank Business Center in Fatih Sirkeci, the massive mosaic panel on the exterior facade of the İMÇ 2nd Block, and the 100-square-meter panel at the outpatient clinic entrance of the Istanbul Training and Research Hospital are among these works.

In addition, the 4th Levent block apartments, the 1958-dated panel on Üsküdar Gazi Street, and the Doves panel at the entrance of the Divan Hotel in Harbiye and The Marmara Pera hotel also constitute this heritage.

Works in the International Arena

Eyüboğlu's 10-ton monumental mosaic wall, completed in 1959, is located in NATO's new headquarters campus in Brussels.

In addition, a stained glass work by the artist is located in the Turkish Embassy building in Bonn, the former capital of Federal Germany.

The Story of Bedri Rahmi Cove

The fish figure painted by the artist on a rock surface in Taşyaka Cove in Muğla's Dalaman district in 1974 has attracted great attention.

This special work led to the cove in question being known over time as Bedri Rahmi Cove.
