Bursa Foundation Works Inventory Exhibition Opened in Üsküdar
Selected frames from the inventory created within the framework of the project aiming to preserve historical heritage were presented to art lovers.
Prepared within the scope of the Foundation Works Inventory Project and revealing Bursa's historical heritage, the exhibition "A Dream Seeing Istanbul: Bursa" opened its doors to visitors at the Üsküdar Mimar Sinan Gallery.
Details of the Exhibition
The exhibition, opened at the Üsküdar Mimar Sinan Gallery, features 87 special frames selected from among the photographs taken during the studies for the three-volume Bursa Foundation Works Inventory Book.
Purpose and Scope of the Project
Initiated with the aim of preserving foundation culture and transferring it to future generations, the Foundation Works Inventory Project records historical structures in different provinces of Turkey using scientific methods.
Important structures such as mosques, madrasahs, inns, baths, tombs, and fountains are documented in detail within this scope.
Bursa Studies
In the studies carried out in Bursa, 385 foundation works were recorded with nearly 35 thousand photographic frames, and as a result of this process, 2 thousand photographs were selected to create the three-volume inventory book.
Visitors can access the digital versions of the books completely free of charge via QR codes located in the exhibition area.
Studies in Other Provinces
While 117 foundation works were documented in Hatay, the first stop of the project, these records gained the quality of very important visual documents after the February 6, 2023 earthquakes.
In the meticulous study lasting 720 days in Konya, 289 foundation works were recorded, while the Kütahya book has reached the printing stage, and studies will be carried out in İzmir and Manisa in 2027.
