Common cultural heritage of the Turkic world meets music with the Navoi Project
The Navoi Project, which will carry the heritage of the 15th-century prominent poet Ali Sher Navoi into the future with contemporary interpretations, will give its first concert in Tashkent on October 12.
Aiming to bring the common cultural heritage of the Turkic world back to the agenda through music, the Navoi Project was introduced to the public at a meeting held at the Istanbul Hagia Sophia Madrasah, and it was announced that the first leg of the project will take place in Tashkent on October 12.
Introduction of the Navoi Project takes place
Aiming to bring the heritage of thinkers and poets from different geographies of the Turkic world together with music, the Navoi Project was announced to the public at a well-attended meeting held at the historic Hagia Sophia Madrasah in Istanbul.
Important figures attended the promotion meeting
Istanbul Deputy and Artistic Director of the project Yücel Arzen Hacıoğulları, Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakıf University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Turan Gökçe, and Project Director Burak Saygılı took part in the meeting.
Coming to life with the joint support of institutions
The project is supported by the Ministry of Culture of Uzbekistan, Turkey's Embassy in Tashkent, TİKA, Yunus Emre Institute, Konya Metropolitan Municipality, Turkish Airlines, and Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakıf University.

Artistic Director Yücel Arzen Hacıoğulları stated that the project is not just a concert, but appeals to people's common cultural memory and desire for unity.
Historical significance of Ali Sher Navoi
Prof. Dr. Turan Gökçe stated that Navoi, who grew up in the Turkestan geography in the 15th century, left numerous works by establishing connections with centers such as Herat, Khorasan, and Samarkand.

Project Director Burak Saygılı noted that they aim to strengthen the idea of unity and solidarity in the Turkic world through culture by utilizing the transformative power of music.
First event will be held in Tashkent
The first event of the project will be held in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, on October 12, with a special repertoire and the participation of local musicians, due to its position in the Turkic world.
Targeting expansion to different geographies
Following the launch in Tashkent, the Navoi Project is planned to spread to various centers in the later stages, particularly in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, and the Balkan geographies.
