Cultural and Publishing Support of 25 Works from Türkiye to Uzbekistan

Culture and Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy announced during his visit to Tashkent for the 35th anniversary of Uzbekistan's independence that support has been provided for the translation and publication of 25 works in the country under the TEDA program.

Visit to Tashkent and Tourism Contacts

Culture and Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy traveled to the capital Tashkent on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of Uzbekistan's independence. During his visit, Ersoy met with Abdulaziz Akkulov, Chairman of the Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan, to discuss tourism mobility and joint routes between the two countries.

Introduction of Mâtürîdî's Thought World

Minister Ersoy attended the promotional program for the work titled 'The Thought World of Mâtürîdî' and its Uzbek translation, held at the Alisher Navoï Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature. The strategic and historical ties between Türkiye and Uzbekistan were emphasized during the program.

TEDA Program and Publishing Support

Minister Ersoy stated that through the TEDA program carried out by the General Directorate of Libraries and Publications, support has been provided to date for the translation of 4,832 works into 70 different languages across 101 countries. It was announced that support has been provided for the translation and publication of 25 works in Uzbekistan.

The Role of Culture and Art Institutions

Touching upon the activities of the Yunus Emre Institute in Uzbekistan, Ersoy expressed that they find it valuable for the Tashkent Yunus Emre Turkish Cultural Center to become a permanent joint production ground that brings together the scientific, cultural, and artistic circles of the two countries.

Islamic Civilization Center and Bilateral Talks

Minister Ersoy visited the Uzbekistan Islamic Civilization Center accompanied by Uzbekistan's Minister of Culture Ozodbek Nazarbekov and held a bilateral meeting. Concrete projects within the framework of the 2026-2027 Cultural Cooperation Plan were discussed during the meeting.

Joint Production Steps in Cinema

Drawing attention to cooperation in the field of cinema and audiovisuals, Ersoy pointed out the importance of the initiation of the shooting process for the film 'The Heroes of Turkistan'. Following the meeting, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the General Directorate of Fine Arts and the Uzbekistan Philharmonic Orchestra.
