Educator and Author Funda Er Establishes a Short Story Workshop within İçel Art Club
Retired teacher, poet, and author Funda Er is launching a practical creative writing training for literature enthusiasts at the İçel Art Club in September.
Dedicate years of her life to literature and education, retired Turkish language teacher, poet, and author Funda Er is bringing a new short story workshop to life under the roof of the İçel Art Club in September.
A Life Story Dedicated to Literature
Born in Tarsus in 1960, Funda Er retired from her professional career after serving as a kindergarten, primary school, and Turkish language teacher for many years.
Transforming the human stories she accumulated throughout her teaching years into verses, stories, and canvases, Er continues to produce art across different branches.
Award-Winning Works and Ministry Selection
The author, who has two published poetry books, saw her 2023 work titled Güle Yolculuk enter the Ministry of Culture's Poetry Books Selection and was purchased by the Ministry.
In addition, she registered her success in the literary world by winning an honorable mention from MEŞYAD with her poem titled Gün Yüzü.
An Art Understanding Bringing Poetry and Painting Together
Seeing poetry and painting as two complementary sibling disciplines, the artist also brought her acrylic paintings together with art lovers at a group exhibition at the İçel Art Club.
The artist continues her productivity simultaneously through both visual arts and literary texts.
New Short Story Workshop at İçel Art Club
In the short story workshop she will launch within the İçel Sanat Kulübü starting in September, she will come together with those interested in literature to share her writing skills.
During the workshop sessions, she will practically impart the subtleties of writing stories, character creation, and plot techniques to the participants.
Active Roles in Cultural and Artistic Institutions
An active member of MEŞYAD, İçel Art Club, BESAM, the Association of Republican Women, and the Writers' Association, Er serves on the board of directors of the USART Association.
Through these activities in civil society organizations, the author continues to contribute to cultural and literary sharing.
Fair and Media Gatherings
She participated in panels and talks at various schools, most notably the Adana-Çukurova Tüyap Book Fair and the Mersin Çukurova Book Fair.
She introduced her works to wide audiences by taking part in literature programs broadcast on TRT Çukurova Radio and local TV channels.
