Finale of Balkan Folk Dance Course Celebrated with Enthusiasm in İzmir

The Balkan Folk Dance course, organized for the first time by the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality and offered free of charge to citizens aged 18-50, concluded with performances held at the Ice Sports Hall in Bornova's Aşık Veysel Recreation Area.

Colorful Finale at the Ice Sports Hall

The final program of the Balkan Folk Dance course, which started in July and was offered free of charge to citizens aged 18-50, witnessed enthusiastic moments.

Families filled the Ice Sports Hall in Bornova's Aşık Veysel Recreation Area, which hosts sports and cultural events during the summer season when the ice rink is removed, to watch the performances.

A Balkan Wedding Recreated

In addition to folk dance performances, a traditional Balkan wedding was staged on the night that brought the people of İzmir together with the colorful world of Balkan folk dances.

The program ended joyfully with the groom's dance (damat halayı), in which the trainees participated along with their families.

Municipal Officials Attended

Berkhan Alptekin, Head of the Youth and Sports Services Department of the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, attended this special night that brought Balkan culture together with İzmir.

Additionally, Yener Ceylan, Head of the Culture, Art and Social Affairs Department of the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, Culture and Art Coordinator Ahmet Diker, and the trainees' families took part in the event.

Speaking at the night, Berkhan Alptekin, Head of the Youth and Sports Services Department of the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, expressed his happiness to be together on such a wonderful evening.

Emphasizing that the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality will always continue to support art, culture, and sports, Alptekin drew attention to the importance of citizens being eager and willing.
