GODIVA is celebrating its 100th anniversary with a special art collaboration featuring contemporary artist Ekrem Yalçındağ, and the collection named Centennial Collection Art Edition is being exhibited in Shanghai, Riyadh, Istanbul, and Belgium.
Centennial and Global Launches
GODIVA's centennial journey began in Japan and the United States before continuing with launches in Shanghai. Following Shanghai, the celebrations will continue in Riyadh and Istanbul, and are reported to conclude in Belgium, where the brand's story began.
Centennial Collection Art Edition
Prepared for GODIVA by Ekrem Yalçındağ, who has a long-standing art practice in Europe, the Centennial Collection Art Edition interprets the relationship between art and chocolate through two different designs.
Tablets and Carrés Series
Preparing a new work for the Tablets series of the collection, the artist transferred design elements into chocolate molds. Inspired by the idea of feeling at home, the series features various types of chocolate, while the Carrés series draws inspiration from a work in the Yıldız Holding Art Collection.
Executive and Artist Views
Yıldız Holding Board Member and pladis Chairman Murat Ülker emphasized that this collaboration is a new chapter in a relationship spanning many years. Ekrem Yalçındağ stated that in the design process, he started from within the chocolate and the desire to give it form.
Sales Process in Turkey
This special edition, limited to five thousand pieces worldwide, is accompanied by a commemorative card, and the collection is offered for sale in selected stores and online in Turkey as of October.
