Taksim Sanat, operating under Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Kültür AŞ, is hosting the States of Body exhibition, featuring works by eight young artists who graduated from the National Higher School of Photography in Arles.

General Scope of the Exhibition

Taksim Sanat, the public space of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Kültür AŞ, is bringing the States of Body exhibition to art lovers as part of the ninth edition of 212 Photography Istanbul.

The exhibition brings together the works of eight young artists who were deemed worthy of the 2026 Félicité awards of the National Higher School of Photography in Arles.

A Different Perspective on the Concept of Body

The artists' works address the ties that the body establishes with nature, environment, culture, and social relations from different perspectives.

Stretching toward soil, geography, the animal world, family, invisibility, extinction, and the sky, the works carry the concept of the body beyond physical boundaries.

ENSP and Young Talents

Founded in 1982, the National Higher School of Photography in Arles holds the distinction of being the only national art school in France entirely dedicated to photography.

The works of the eight young graduates, who received the diploma jury's high distinction in June 2026, are being exhibited under the festival's umbrella.

Gradual Installation Layout

The exhibition's gradual installation layout offers a route guiding the viewer from concrete approaches toward abstract concepts.

Works by young artists such as Aida Ledchudo, Suzanna de Vido, Arina Starykh, and Gaspard Labastie are featured in this layout.

Visitor Information

The States of Body exhibition can be visited free of charge by all art enthusiasts at Taksim Sanat until October 17.
