The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has filed an indictment against singer Fatih Karaca, known as Mabel Matiz, due to the lyrics and music video of his song titled Ha Leylim.

Reason for the Preparation of the Indictment

The investigation regarding the lyrics and music video of the song Ha Leylim, performed by singer Fatih Karaca, known as Mabel Matiz, and published on digital platforms, has been completed by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, and an indictment has been prepared.

Video Footage and Review Details

The indictment stated that in an outdoor setting where numerous people were lying or sitting on the ground, a male figure in the role of a groom and another male figure with blond hair and a yellow suit came into view.

It was reported that one of the individuals took off his jacket, and subsequently, both men danced facing each other, making repetitive movements during the dance by using their arm and hip regions prominently.

Evaluation of Visual and Auditory Elements

It was stated that while there was only music at the beginning of the video, the lyrics of the song were later found to accompany the visuals.

It was expressed that in the ensuing parts of the video, the dancing and various movements of the two men became the focal point of the clip.

When evaluated together with the expressions in the lyrics, it was noted that the lyrics and the visuals were not independent elements, but rather complemented each other.

Requested Prison Sentence

As a result of all these evaluations, stating that the accepted boundaries concerning public general morality were pushed, a legal process was initiated.

It was demanded that Mabel Matiz be punished with imprisonment ranging from six months to three years for the crime of publishing or mediating the publication of obscene images, writings, or words through the press and media.
