Istanbul is preparing for a long and vibrant season in the art world with the arrival of September, following the slow pace of summer. Galleries and exhibitions across the city are starting to bring art enthusiasts together with brand new events and collections.

The Death of the Camera Exhibition

Alkan Avcıoğlu's exhibition The Death of the Camera, realized in collaboration with DIFOART and meeting audiences on September 15, questions habits regarding how photography sees and shows the world. The starting point of the exhibition carries Roland Barthes' concept of the Death of the Author over to the camera.

Nebulous Exhibition

Evin will present Devin Oktar Yalkın's second solo exhibition in Turkey, titled Nebulous, to art enthusiasts. At the center of the exhibition lies the artist's longing for Turkey, featuring photographs taken in different geographies.

Systems Shaping Reality

Curator Dorothea Strauss brings together artists from different generations and geographies in the exhibition Making Worlds Systems of Being, opening its doors on September 9 at Sevil Dolmacı Gallery's historic venue, Villa İpranosyan.

Master and Apprentice Encounters

Curated by Itır Demir and opening on September 7, the After the Master exhibition brings together works by 22 artists from the Terakki Foundation Art Collection. The selection explores the traces left by master-apprentice relationships in works of art.

Artweeks Istanbul Collectors Edition

Artweeks Istanbul brings collections together within the historic texture of Akaretler Row Houses with its Collectors edition. The selections organized by Bilgili Sanat can be visited free of charge between September 16 and November 8.
