Karabağlar Municipality Completes Third Season of Joyful Streets Festival
Cultural and art events held in different neighborhoods throughout the summer brought thousands of children and families together.
The Joyful Streets Happy Children Festival, implemented by the Karabağlar Municipality with its own staff and technical infrastructure, has successfully completed its third season. Across 39 events held over three seasons, approximately 36,525 children and families were hosted.
Entertainment in Neighborhoods Throughout the Summer
In events held across various neighborhoods throughout July and August, music, circus arts, illusion, dance, and DJ performances met with the residents of Karabağlar. Providing children with access to culture and art in their own neighborhoods, the festivals became one of the summer gatherings where families also spent enjoyable time together.
Message to Children from the Mayor
Karabağlar Mayor Helil Kınay stated that they will continue to increase spaces where children can meet with art, culture, and each other, expressing that they will grow hope by sharing dreams.
Youth Created Their Own Miracles on Stage
Performances prepared by trainees of the Karabağlar City Theater Contemporary Circus Arts after receiving training throughout the year received great acclaim. Written and directed by municipal staff member Serkan Baştürk, The Chest of Miracles was staged as one of the standout performances of the events.
Social Services Met with Citizens
Alongside cultural and art events, the festivals turned into gatherings where the municipality's social services were directly explained to citizens. Information was provided on social assistance, the Social Market, and KARBEM educational supports through the Social Services Information Desk, and the Selluka Women's Initiative Production and Business Cooperative also took part with its handmade products.
