Kenan Yavuz Ethnography Museum Receives Award from the European Museum Academy
The museum located in Bayburt won the Weiden Your Scope Award, presented internationally for the first time.
The Kenan Yavuz Ethnography Museum, established in Beşpınar Village in Bayburt's Demirözü district, has been deemed worthy of the Weiden Your Scope Award, presented for the first time this year by the European Museum Academy.
Award Ceremony and Details
Dedicated in honor of Dr. Wim van der Weiden, the founder and first president of the European Museum Academy, the award found its owner at a ceremony held in Alicante, Spain.
The award in question was presented to the Kenan Yavuz Ethnography Museum as a result of a voting process involving one hundred museums from twenty-four different countries.

Furkan Yavuz, Founding Board Member of the Kenan Yavuz Ethnography Museum, stated that the museum embodies the will to preserve social memory with the aim of carrying Anatolia's ancient cultural heritage into the future.
Karl Borromäus Murr, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the European Museum Academy, underlined that despite being located in a rural region, the museum has assumed a leadership role that will set an example for other private initiatives.
Awards Won in the Past
Established by businessman Kenan Yavuz as a social responsibility project on an area of twenty-five thousand square meters, the museum has also received various international awards in past years.
The museum had previously won the Silletto Prize in two hundred one, the Europa Nostra Award in two hundred two, and the BIG SEE Tourism Design Grand Prix and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism Special Award in two hundred three.
