The Kütahya Archaeology and Mining Museum was officially opened with the participation of Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy. Minister Ersoy announced that 612 million liras have been invested in the city's culture and tourism over the last 24 years.

New Cultural Investment in Kütahya

Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy visited Kütahya within the scope of the Turkey Century Meetings. Touching upon the investments made in the city during his visit, Minister Ersoy announced that a total of 612 million liras has been transferred to the city's culture and tourism infrastructure in the last 24 years.

Thematic Sections of the Museum

The newly opened Kütahya Archaeology and Mining Museum brings together the city's thousands of years of history, production culture, and mining memory under one roof. There are five different thematic sections within the museum: archaeology, city and ethnography, tile, mining, and children.

Rich Collection of Artifacts

Housing thousands of historical objects in its collection, a total of 62,701 artifacts are preserved in the museum. Of these artifacts, 30,959 are archaeological finds, 4,078 are ethnographic artifacts, and 27,664 are coins. Approximately 3,300 artifacts are directly exhibited and presented to the appreciation of visitors.

Historical Hajj Certificates

Among the most special pieces of the museum, which draws attention with its rich collection, are the Hajj Certificates from 1816-1817 containing depictions of Mecca, Medina, and Jerusalem. These documents increase the historical value of the museum.
