Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy announced to the public the budget for the total investments made for the revival of cultural assets in the provinces affected by the February 6 earthquakes, at a promotional meeting held in Kahramanmaraş.

Kahramanmaraş Program

Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy started his contacts in Kahramanmaraş with a visit to the governorate and carried out his first inspections regarding the works in the city.

Institutional Visits

Following the governorate program, Minister Ersoy visited the Kahramanmaraş Metropolitan Municipality and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and then attended the restoration promotion meeting.

Museums and Cultural Assets

More than 12 billion 265 million liras of resources were used for the projects of allocated structures through the General Directorate of Cultural Assets and Museums in the provinces affected by the earthquake.

Comprehensive efforts to rebuild historical buildings and museums in Gaziantep, Diyarbakır, Hatay, Kahramanmaraş, Malatya, Şanlıurfa, Elazığ, and Adıyaman are ongoing.

Support Programs

Within the framework of the Regulation on Providing Assistance to Immovable Cultural Heritage, a support program exceeding 2 billion 140 million liras was implemented for 1,608 immovable cultural assets.

Foundations and Total Budget

It was stated that a budget of 22 billion liras was allocated for the earthquake zone by the General Directorate of Foundations, and it was emphasized that the total investments will reach 34 billion liras.

Weather Warnings

The General Directorate of Meteorology and AKOM warned citizens against downpours and temperature drops expected to be effective in the northern, inner, and western parts of the country.
