Muğla Culture and Art Festival Begins
Hosted by Menteşe Municipality, the 33rd International Muğla Culture and Art Festival started with the lighting of a fire in the square and the release of peace doves.
The 33rd International Muğla Culture and Art Festival, hosted by Menteşe Municipality and supported by Muğla Metropolitan Municipality, opened its doors enthusiastically with the festival fire lit in the city square and peace doves released into the sky.
Broad Participation in the Festival
Local administrators, non-governmental organizations, and numerous citizens showed great interest in the organization hosted by Menteşe Municipality.
Emphasis on Culture and Art
Menteşe Mayor Gonca Köksal Aras stated that they carry on this tradition, which first started in 1984, with a great sense of responsibility and that they work for children to have equal access to art.
Events Will Continue for Four Days
Various events such as talks, concerts, art workshops, a kite festival, and the traditional Karabağlar Melon Festival will take place throughout the four-day festival.
Importance of Transferring to Future Generations
Menteşe District Governor Ali Edip Budan drew attention to the importance of living culture and art to the fullest and passing these values on to younger generations.

Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Aras stated that Menteşe's natural and architectural fabric must be preserved, expressing his appreciation for such events.
Fire Lit and Folk Songs Sung
Following the festival fire lit by protocol members, peace doves were released and artists performed folk songs by Neşet Ertaş.
