New rainy weather wave and temperature drop warning across Turkey
Meteorology and AKOM warned citizens against a new rainy weather wave entering from the west of the country and the drop in temperatures.
The General Directorate of Meteorology and the Disaster Coordination Center issued warnings against a new rainy weather wave and temperature drop expected to be effective across Turkey.
General Weather Evaluations
According to the latest evaluations made by the General Directorate of Meteorology, the northern and eastern parts of the country are partly and locally very cloudy.
While showers and thunderstorms are expected around Van, the weather in other regions is forecasted to be clear and sunny.
Rains to Start on Sunday
According to meteorological maps, a new rainy system will enter the country starting from the western parts on Sunday.
Thunderstorms will show their effect, starting in the west of Marmara and the North Aegean coasts on Sunday.
Expanding Impact in the Middle of the Week
On Monday, the rains will continue by expanding their area across Marmara and the Western Black Sea.
On Wednesday, heavy thunderstorms are expected in Marmara, the Aegean, Central Anatolia, the Mediterranean, and the Black Sea.
Temperature Drop Warning from AKOM
The Disaster Coordination Center drew attention to the cool air wave coming from the north and the negative effects of the wind.
It was reported that with the effect of the northeast wind (poyraz), thermometers will drop below 20 degrees Celsius during night hours, creating a noticeable coolness.
Shower Warning for Istanbul
It was emphasized that the weather in Istanbul and its surroundings, which will start with local rains on Sunday, will turn into showers on Monday and Wednesday.
Stating that up to 15 kilograms of precipitation per square meter could fall on Monday, relevant parties were asked to be cautious.
