Numerous LGBTI+ Associations and Social Media Accounts Blocked
In line with court decisions, access blocks were imposed on the websites of many rights associations and the social media accounts of activists.
The websites of many LGBTI+ associations carrying out rights advocacy across Turkey, as well as the social media accounts of various activists, have been blocked by court orders.
Details of Court Decisions
Access blocking orders have been implemented within the scope of the decision by the Istanbul 7th Criminal Judgeship of Peace dated September 12, 2026, and numbered 2026/9559, and the decision by the Mersin 4th Criminal Judgeship of Peace dated September 12, 2026, and numbered 2026/9581.
Blocked Associations and Websites
Website access bans have been imposed on a total of ten associations, namely Kaos GL, CETAD, Muamma LGBTİ+, SPoD, 17 May, Lambdaistanbul LGBTİ+, Red Umbrella, Pink Life LGBTI+ Association, Mersin 7 Colors LGBT, and HEVİ LGBTİ.
Additionally, the websites of ÜniKuir, which operates in the field of university students' LGBTI+ rights, the interactive LGBTI+ dictionary Ayı Sözlük, and the queer publication Velvele have also been blocked within the framework of these decisions.
Blocks on Social Media Accounts
Among the restricted platforms and accounts are the social media accounts of lawyer and human rights defender Levent Pişkin, actor and trans rights activist Seyhan Arman, and theater actor and LGBTI+ activist Zeynep Esmeray Özadikti.
Furthermore, access blocks were also applied to the social media accounts of journalist and Kaos GL Editor-in-Chief Yıldız Tar and youth and LGBTI+ rights defender Enes Hocaoğulları.
