Over 200 culinary spots certified within the scope of the Istanbul Cultural Road Festival
Istanbul's rich gastronomic heritage, stretching from palace cuisine to local artisan restaurants, was promoted at more than 200 locations within the scope of the Cultural Road Festival.
Within the framework of the Istanbul Cultural Road Festival organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, over 200 addresses reflecting the city's gastronomic heritage were certified accompanied by renowned chefs and writers through the TGA's Culinary Spot Project.
Discovery of Gastronomic Heritage
The Istanbul Cultural Road Festival, implemented by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, offers a discovery of the city's rich history stretching from palace and mansion kitchens to local artisan restaurants.
Thanks to the project, traditional recipes passed down from generation to generation and the stories of long-established businesses are brought together with gastronomy enthusiasts.
TGA's Culinary Spot Project
With the Culinary Spot project carried out by the Turkey Tourism Promotion and Development Agency, addresses in different neighborhoods of the city and the intricacies of food preparation are introduced to wide audiences.
Opening Program and Participants
Chefs discussed the city's culinary culture at Biz İstanbul Restaurant, where the gastronomy program of the Istanbul Cultural Road Festival was launched.
Hosting and Expert Names
Michelin Bib Gourmand award-winning Chef Vedat Başaran hosted the program, which was attended by Maksut Aşkar, Emre Şen, and academics.
Various Routes in Different Neighborhoods
Special routes prepared in regions such as Fatih, Beyoğlu, Beşiktaş, Kadıköy, Kanlıca, Beykoz, Şile, and the Historical Peninsula are offered to visitors.
Exhibition of Traditional Tastes
A wide range of dishes, from pot meals to various types of kebabs and döner, from olive oil dishes to pastries and mantı, are showcased along these rich routes.
Role of Long-Established Family Businesses
Long-established businesses such as Reşat Balık Market, Kıztaşı Muhallebicisi, and Kurufasulyeci Ali Baba participated in the project and shared their own traditional stories.
