International Broadcasting Studies
The Radio and Television Supreme Council participated in the broadcasting meetings held in Geneva under the auspices of the International Telecommunication Union. During the meeting, application-based television broadcasting, which aims to bring television broadcasts and internet services together in the same system, was discussed.
New Application-Based Model
The International Telecommunication Union adopted its new report titled application-based television broadcasting. With this newly developed model, television sets are aimed to go beyond being just devices for watching channels and to combine live broadcast and internet content on the same screen.
The Era of Applications Instead of Channels
With the new system, it is anticipated that the boundaries between television and internet will diminish. Viewers will be able to access live television channels, on-demand programs, and internet content through the same screen.
Common Standard and Infrastructure
The international institution describes the integrated operation of television broadcasts and internet services as one of the most important steps of the coming period. The studies address the compatible operation of different broadcasting systems and infrastructure requirements.
