Within the scope of the Rengalle project, led by the Maple Tree Association in Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region, volunteers are cleaning unauthorized notices and writings from the city's public spaces, giving them an aesthetic appearance.

The Aim of the Rengalle Project

The volunteer movement, launched in Erbil two years ago, continues its work with the aim of giving the city a cleaner and more aesthetic visage.

Thousands of Unauthorized Notices Cleared

As a result of the voluntary youth's work, more than 40,000 unauthorized notices and writings have been completely erased from public spaces to date.

Cultural Figures Inscribed on Walls

So far, the walls of 4 underpasses and more than 20 schools have been adorned with the Kurdistan flag, Peshmerga figures, and cultural and environmental themed paintings.

Logistical Support from the Municipality

In the project, to which the Erbil Municipality provides logistical contributions, volunteers generally work on weekends to transform public spaces.
