Alarms Triggered and Police Intervention
The alarm went off at 5:48 AM at the museum where works by the famous French painter Auguste Renoir are exhibited. Mayor Masson stated that the police arrived at the museum about five minutes after the report.
Security Cameras and the Escape
Footage captured by security cameras revealed two suspects fleeing the museum. It was understood that the suspects left behind one of the stolen works during their escape.
Value of the Works and Investigation Process
While French media reported that the stolen works were worth nine million euros, it has not been clarified whether this figure covers the total amount. Municipal and police teams have launched an operation to capture the suspects.
