Second Maltepe Book Days Opens Its Doors at Cumhuriyet Square

Dedicated to poet and writer Ahmet Telli, the second Maltepe Book Days will welcome literature enthusiasts at Cumhuriyet Square between September 12 and 20.

Event Details and Dates

Organized for the second time this year, the Maltepe Book Days will open its doors on September 12 and continue to welcome visitors until September 20.

Organized by the Maltepe Municipality at Cumhuriyet Square, the events will meet with book lovers under the slogan "Literature Liberates".

Publisher Participation and Diversity

A total of 122 publishing houses will participate in the organization, with 37 of these houses under the umbrella of YAYKOOP and 85 participating independently.

Thanks to the broad publisher participation, different voices and colors of the literary world will come together with readers in Maltepe.

Guest of Honor and Opening Program

The event will be held in dedication to Ahmet Telli, the powerful voice of poetry and literature, and the opening will take place with a meaningful program in Telli's honor.

The opening ceremony will be held on Saturday, September 12 at 6:00 PM with the participation of Ahmet Telli's family, friends, and IMM Deputy Mayor Nuri Aslan.

Rich Talk and Workshop Program

Within the scope of the Book Days, a very rich event program ranging from talks to book signings and workshops will await participants.

Along with literature, talks on cinema, music, history, and popular culture topics, documentary screenings, exhibitions, and musical performances will be held.

Prominent Names to Attend

Throughout the events, well-known names such as Ahmet Ümit, Buket Uzuner, Murat Gülsoy, Şükrü Erbaş, Sevim Ak, Erdal Güney, and Sevin Okyay will meet with their readers.

Numerous authors, poets, artists, and academics will be hosted in Maltepe with topics from the worlds of literature, history, and thought.
