Smyrna Ensemble to Perform at Ephesus Culture and Arts Festival

The 24-member Smyrna Ensemble, operating under the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, is preparing to meet music lovers at the Ephesus Culture and Arts Festival on September 5 with a special repertoire themed 'Raks-ı Politen'.

The 24-member Smyrna Ensemble, established under the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, will take the stage as part of the Ephesus Culture and Arts Festival on September 5.
At this special event, the ensemble will present a repertoire prepared with the theme of Raks-ı Politen to music lovers.
Extensive Repertoire
Smyrna Ensemble brings together pieces from different genres such as traditional Turkish music, Turkish pop, and Anatolian rock, in addition to classical Neapolitan works.
With this special repertoire, the ensemble aims to bring different musical understandings and styles together on the same stage.
Past and Future Events
Established within the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Department of Culture, Arts and Social Affairs, the ensemble held its first concert on June 13 at the Ahmed Adnan Saygun Arts Center.
Artistic Director and Tenor İnanç Menekşe stated that they are also making preparations for the September 9 reception as part of the ensemble's future activities.

Event and Organization Branch Manager Cevat Oker stated that the orchestra has gained an important place in the cultural and artistic life of Izmir.
Orchestra conductor Özgür Günay expressed that the orchestra consists of a wide variety of instruments and that they aim to reach all of Izmir.
