Smyrna Ensemble to Perform at the Ephesus Culture and Art Festival

The Smyrna Ensemble, brought to the city's cultural and artistic life by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, will give a concert with its rich cast and wide repertoire on September 5 at the Ephesus Culture and Art Festival.

Smyrna Ensemble Cast and Repertoire

Continuing its activities with a twenty-four-member cast, the Smyrna Ensemble builds bridges between different musical genres with its original repertoire prepared under the theme "Raks-ı Politen" (Polite Dance).

The ensemble appears before listeners across a wide spectrum ranging from classical Neapolitan pieces to traditional Turkish music, and from Turkish pop songs to Anatolian rock.

Past Concerts and Festival Program

Having completed its work within the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Department of Culture, Art and Social Affairs, the ensemble previously held its launch concert at the Ahmed Adnan Saygun Art Center.

The Smyrna Ensemble had also met with music lovers on July 14 as part of the Lawn Concerts held at the Historical Coal Gas Factory.

Evaluations by Managers and Conductor

Event and Organization Branch Manager Cevat Oker stated that the orchestra, which was established this year, gained an important place in a short time.

Orchestra Conductor Özgür Günay and Artistic Director Tenor İnanç Menekşe conveyed that they appeal to wide audiences with their rich instrument cast and are planning for the September 9 reception.
