Within the scope of the Flavor Point project carried out by the Turkey Tourism Promotion and Development Agency, a 52-stop route showcasing the city's gastronomic heritage was created as part of the Kahramanmaraş Culture Road Festival.

The Flavor Point project, implemented by the Turkey Tourism Promotion and Development Agency, brought the city's culinary culture together with visitors within the scope of the Kahramanmaraş Culture Road Festival. The 52-stop route prepared within this framework brought together many prominent names from the world of gastronomy.

Prominent Experts at the Festival

While chef Sinem Özler hosted the festival's gastronomy program, well-known names such as Claudio Chinali, Kerem Bilginer, Sedef İybar, Ebru Erke, Sibel Dedeoğlu, Gamze İneceli İpek, and Talip Bayram also took part in the events.

Traditional Maraş Cuisine

Meat, bulgur, yogurt, tarhana, sumac sour, and Maraş pepper are among the staple ingredients in Maraş cuisine. Dishes such as eli böğründe, sömelek köfte, ekşili aya sulusu, yogurt-based dövme aşı, acem pilavı, Maraş paçası, and mumbar dolması rank among the city's foremost culinary specialties.

Chefs' Recommendations

Chef Sinem Özler recommended dishes like ekşili aya sulusu, sömelek köfte, and eli böğründe to first-time visitors to the city. Meanwhile, Katiphan Maraş Kitchen Chef Esra Kenger strongly recommended çullama dessert in addition to these flavors.

Historic Venues and Tastes

Atilla Kambur, a fourth-generation operator of Mado, emphasized that the secret of the famous ice cream comes from the combination of goat's milk, salep, and sugar. Alican Börekçi, a representative of Hacı Milcan Meat Restaurant, stated that they have been serving eli böğründe and paşa kebab for over 100 years.

Varieties of Maraş Bun

Fehmi Büyükdereli, operator of Alfi Çörek Dünyası, pointed out the city's rich bakery culture by stating that they continue to produce traditional Maraş buns in exactly 25 different varieties.
