Syrian collector decides to donate historical artifacts to the state
Collector Masry, who has accumulated artifacts belonging to many civilizations from Sumer to the Ottoman Empire for twenty years, expressed his petition to hand over the pieces to the state for their preservation.
Continuing his collection hobby with a sense of responsibility toward his country's history, Masry announced that he wants to hand over the priceless historical artifacts he has accumulated for about 20 years to the state.
Scope and Periods of the Collection
The rich collection assembled by Masry over a twenty-year period covers a wide historical spectrum starting from the Sumerian, Assyrian, and Babylonian periods up to the Greek, Roman, Byzantine, Islamic, and Ottoman periods.
Artifact Diversity and Important Pieces
The collection includes bronze coins, Ottoman-era pistols, seals and amulets, bracelets and rings, pottery, oil lamps, stones, statues, fossils, and glass pieces featuring a crescent and star.
Desire to Hand Over to the State
Stating that he wants all this accumulated historical heritage to be preserved in safe hands and protected in a place where everyone can see it, Masry shared his desire to donate the artifacts to the state with the public.
