Team and Program Details for the 30th Istanbul Theatre Festival Finalized
Organized by İKSV and opening its doors in October, the 30th Istanbul Theatre Festival will bring numerous domestic and international productions together with art lovers.
Organized for the 30th time by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts, the Istanbul Theatre Festival will present theatre, performance, and dance shows to audiences between October 22 and December 3.
Scope and Sponsors of the Festival
Organized by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts, the 30th Istanbul Theatre Festival will meet with art enthusiasts between October 22 and December 3.
A total of 17 productions will be staged in the organization, which is carried out under the co-sponsorship of Koç Holding Energy Group companies and curated by Mehmet Birkiye.
Productions and Venues to Be Staged
Within the scope of the event, which will feature 11 productions from Turkey and 6 from abroad, two works will be supported by the İKSV Young Artist Fund.
Productions prepared from different disciplines will be presented to audiences at 13 different venues across Istanbul.
Opening and Key Performances
The opening of the festival will take place at the Zorlu PSM Turkcell Stage with the play titled Lacrima, signed by French director Caroline Guiela Nguyen.
Additionally, The Wind Tree, prepared in collaboration with the Istanbul State Opera and Ballet and MDTistanbul, will be presented to art lovers in the program.
International Theatre and Dance Companies
Nederlands Dans Theater, one of the world's leading contemporary dance companies, will perform in Istanbul as part of the festival after a long hiatus.
The international program will also feature Dmitry Krymov's work titled Requiem and Marah Haj Hussein's piece titled It's Not About Dil Broblem.
Closing Play and Award Ceremony
The festival will close with the adaptation of Oscar Wilde's The Picture of Dorian Gray at the Zorlu PSM Turkcell Platinum Stage.
On the other hand, during the organized award ceremony, the festival's Honorary Award was presented to actress Tilbe Saran.
