The 10th Living Heritage Festival Commenced with a Cortege Walk in Kütahya
The tenth Living Heritage Festival in Kütahya opened its doors at Zafer Square with a colorful cortege walk and the participation of protocol members.
Organized to preserve traditional handicrafts and cultural values in Kütahya, the 10th Living Heritage Festival began with an enthusiastic cortege walk stretching from Laleli Mosque to Zafer Square. The three-day event features exhibitions, workshops, and concerts.
Cortege Walk and Opening Ceremony
The cortege walk, which started in front of Laleli Mosque and ended at Zafer Square, was attended by protocol members, folk dance teams, and the Mehteran Team. Accompanied by TOGG vehicles covered in tile patterns, the walk witnessed colorful scenes.
Protocol Speeches and Evaluations
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Dr. Coşkun Yılmaz emphasized that Kütahya is one of the ancient centers of the Century of Turkey. Governor Musa Işın, on the other hand, described the city as a living heritage and a hidden paradise.
Art Stands and Exhibition Visits
Protocol members visited the artisan stands at Zafer Square and examined tile, mosaic, marbling, and filigree exhibitions. Fifty masters from all over Turkey were hosted at the Tile Makers Bazaar.
Traditional Handicrafts and Events
Throughout the festival, many traditional handicraft masters, such as those in ceramics, wooden spoon making, leather processing, silver processing, and rosary making, are introducing their works. Additionally, various concerts and children's games are organized.
