The 30th International Turk-Tatar Cultural Festival Begins in Romania
The thirtieth international Turk-Tatar festival held in Romania with the participation of cultural and art groups from five countries is witnessing colorful scenes.
The International Turk-Tatar Folk Dances, Songs and Traditional Costumes Festival, organized for the thirtieth time this year by the Democratic Union of Turks, Muslims and Tatars of Romania, continues with enthusiastic events.
Start and Scope of the Festival
The organization implemented by the Democratic Union of Turks, Muslims and Tatars of Romania brings the Turk-Tatar heritage in the Balkans and Eastern Europe to the stage. Lasting for three days, the festival will conclude with a grand gala program on September 5.
Parade Marches
Groups within the scope of the festival held parade marches in the city centers of Mangalia and Medgidia wearing traditional national costumes, carrying the flags of the countries they represent and the Blue Flag with the Tarak Tamga, which is the symbol of the Crimean Tatar people.
Participating Countries and Communities
The event is attended by the Cıyın Ensemble from the Crimean Turks Culture and Assistance Association and the YAFEM Ensemble from Yalova, Turkey. In addition, Greece, Bulgaria, Lithuania, and other minority teams in Romania are taking part in the festival.
Historical Visit and Closing
Following the parade marches and folk dance performances, the Cıyın Ensemble representing Turkey visited the historical Esmehan Sultan Mosque built during the Ottoman Empire period. The events in the city of Constanța will be completed with a grand gala night.
