The Peace Festival, held for the 31st time this year in Didim, Aydın, came to an end with events commemorating September 1 World Peace Day, panel discussions, sailing races, and a Candan Erçetin concert.

World Peace Day Events

The September 1 World Peace Day program began with a wreath-laying ceremony held at the Ayşenur Ezgi Eygi Memorial Park. Afterwards, sails were hoisted for peace on the sea with the Peace Cup Sailing Race held in Altınkum.

Cultural Talks and Theater

Within the scope of the festival, the play titled "Toys in the Dream" was staged at DIGEM, bringing together children. Architect Muharrem Çetinel and Writer Sideris Papageorgiou came together for the "Didim's Lost Village, Yoran" talk.

Peace and Friendship Panel

Didim Mayor Hatice Gençay, former mayor Mehmet Soysalan, President of the Aegean Peace and Communication Association Zeynep Altıok, and journalist Merih Ak discussed peace and friendship among peoples.

Peace Fire and Award Ceremony

A Peace Cortege marched to Aytepe, where the Peace Fire was lit. The 2026 Didyma Peace Award was presented to Hamid Mazhar Ali, the husband of Ayşenur Ezgi Eygi.

Closing Concert

At the grand finale of the 31st Didim Peace Festival, beloved artist Candan Erçetin met with the residents of Didim at the Mavişehir Atatürk Culture and Living Space, bringing the festival to a close.
