The theatrical work staged in memory of Ziya Gökalp, one of the prominent figures of Turkish intellectual life, completed its Balkan tour covering North Macedonia and Kosovo in Prizren.

Final Stop of the Balkan Tour

Prepared in cooperation with the General Directorate of State Theatres and the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY), the play titled 'An Alp Written to the Sky' met audiences in the city of Prizren, Kosovo, which was the final stop of its Balkan tour.

Three-City Tour Program

Prepared on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of Ziya Gökalp's birth, the play was first staged in Gostivar, North Macedonia, on September 9 as part of the Balkan tour, and the tour continued in Skopje on September 10.

Production Team and Subject of the Work

Written by Derya Özer, directed by Cem Sel, and featuring Ankara State Theatre artist Murat Kesim portraying Ziya Gökalp, the work brings his ideas on language, culture, nation, and identity to the stage.

Screening Within the Scope of the Festival

The final performance took place on September 13 within the scope of the 2nd Prizren International Turkish Theatre Festival, where the play was staged at the festival's closing and received great interest from art lovers.
