Third Prize Awarded in Trabzon Culture and Art Center Competition
This achievement in the architectural project competition highlighted an innovative design aimed at preserving the urban fabric and strengthening public spaces.
The project designed by the team of Bilge Altuğ Polat, Demet Dinçer, and Mehmet Metin Polat won the third prize in the Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality Culture and Art Center National Architectural Project Competition.
Competition Success and Design Team
The architectural work prepared by Bilge Altuğ Polat, Demet Dinçer, and Mehmet Metin Polat achieved success in the nationally held evaluation process and was deemed worthy of the third prize.
Urban Context and Environmental Relations
The prepared project was designed with the aim of preserving the historical environment, re-establishing spatial relationships between the Gülbahar Hatun Mosque, Atapark, and Zağnos Valley, and strengthening urban continuity.
Architectural Layout and Spatial Fiction
In the design approach, entrances at different levels, namely the platform, upper foyer, and lower foyer, were planned to provide visitors with alternative circulation opportunities.
Cultural Halls and Flexible Use
Within the scope of the project, spaces capable of hosting various events, such as the Gülbahar Hatun Hall, Zağnos Hall, and flexibly used Black Box theaters, were included.
