İzmir's young museum, Yaşar Museum, will meet visitors in October with new exhibitions and street events. The museum management will implement projects not limited to four walls, but in the city's streets, neighborhoods, and villages.

Culture and Art Activities Beyond Four Walls

Being İzmir's youngest museum with a 9-month history, Yaşar Museum draws attention with its architecture, events, and goals.

Museum Director Rıdvan Gölcük stated that they do not consider İzmir's cultural accumulation within four walls and that they will meet visitors with new exhibitions in October.

Transformation from a Historical Flour Mill to a Museum

The historical building, which was used as a flour mill and dates back to 1895, was restored by the Yaşar Education and Culture Foundation and opened its doors in January 2026.

The museum, which centers around the DYO Painting Competitions collection, also exhibits archaeology and rug collections.

Traveling Projects for Neighborhoods and Villages

The museum management plans to take excavation, restoration, and painting kits to İzmir's neighborhoods and villages with the traveling suitcase museum project.

In addition, close relationships with visitors continue to be established through guided tours held on Wednesdays and home gatherings.
