EMRA Decision in the Official Gazette
The decision regarding the transmission surcharge to be applied in 2027 by the Energy Market Regulatory Authority has been published in the Official Gazette and entered into force.
Fee Rate and Calculation Method
According to the new regulation, the transmission surcharge to be applied throughout 2027 will be calculated at a rate of 0.7 percent of the transmission tariff of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation. These amounts will be calculated monthly by TEİAŞ and deposited into the EMRA account by the 25th of the following month.
Impact on Consumer Bills
While this determined rate defines the percentage of the surcharge to be levied over the electricity transmission tariff, it does not contain any changes regarding the direct reflection of this fee onto the consumer. As a result of EMRA's decision, the transmission surcharge will not be reflected on consumers' electricity bills.
