54 Provinces Successfully Increased Their Exports in the First Seven Months of the Year

According to the Ministry of Trade's activity-based provincial export data for July and the first seven months of the year, Istanbul became the province with the highest exports, while a total of 54 provinces across the country increased their foreign sales and 22 provinces realized exports above 1 billion dollars.

Provinces with the Highest Exports

According to the data of the Ministry of Trade, Istanbul was the province with the highest exports last month with 5 billion 846 million dollars, while the city's foreign sales decreased by 0.6 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.

Istanbul was followed by Kocaeli with 3 billion 389 million dollars and a 1 percent decrease, and Izmir followed these two provinces with 2 billion 74 million dollars and a 6.9 percent increase.

Leading Sectors by Province

While the precious or semi-precious stones chapter ranked first in Istanbul's exports with 968 million 320 thousand dollars, motor land vehicles stood out in Kocaeli.

In Izmir's foreign sales, mineral fuels and oils ranked first with 351 million 305 thousand dollars.

Countries with the Most Exports by Province

While the USA ranked first in Istanbul's exports with 406 million 654 thousand dollars, this country was followed by Germany and the United Arab Emirates.

While Kocaeli made the highest exports to Germany, the country to which Izmir realized the most foreign sales was again Germany.

Provinces that Increased Their Exports the Most in Terms of Value

Mersin was the province that increased its exports the most on an annual basis in terms of value in July, ranking first with an increase of 194 million dollars.

Mersin was followed by Izmir with 135 million dollars and Antalya with 129 million dollars; 22 provinces left 1 billion dollars behind in the January-July period.
