Retiree and civil servant salary increases clarified according to Central Bank survey
With the announcement of the Central Bank's inflation forecast, the pension and civil servant salary increase rates for January 2027 have been recalculated.
Following the announcement of the year-end inflation forecast as 29.61 percent in the Central Bank's Market Participants Survey, the increase rates to be applied to SSI, BAĞ-KUR retirees, civil servants, and retired civil servants in January 2027 have been reshaped.
Inflation Forecast and New Rates
The year-end inflation forecast of 29.61 percent from the Central Bank's Market Participants Survey altered expectations regarding salary increases.
In line with the new calculations, SSI and BAĞ-KUR retirees are expected to receive an increase of 10.07 percent.
Civil Servant and Retired Civil Servant Increases
Collective bargaining agreements and inflation differences are taken into account in the salary increases of civil servants and retired civil servants.
By adding a 2.87 percent inflation difference to the 5 percent collective bargaining increase, the rate is projected to be 8.01 percent.
Previous Targets and Changes
In the Medium-Term Program announced in September, the year-end inflation target was set at 28.4 percent.
According to this previous target, an increase of about 9.04 percent for SSI and BAĞ-KUR retirees, and approximately 7 percent for civil servants and retired civil servants, was projected.
Base Pension and Lowest Civil Servant Salary
According to the updated survey results, it is calculated that the lowest pension could rise from 23,552 TL to 25,923 TL.
It is estimated that the lowest civil servant salary will increase from 70,224 TL to 75,848 TL.
Additional Payments and Social Supports
In parallel with the salary increase rates, payments such as family allowance, 65-plus age pension, and home care support will also be updated.
The paid military service fee is also expected to rise from 472,653.60 TL to 510,513 TL in line with the new rates.
