A trout facility that will be among Europe's leading centers is being established in Van
Authorities inspected the construction of the new trout hatchery and fry production center, which stands out with its multi-million annual production capacity.
The trout hatchery and fry production center being built in Van's Bahçesaray district will be among Europe's leading facilities upon completion and will bring significant economic dynamism to the region.
Inspections Conducted at the Facility
Van Governor Ozan Balcı, Bahçesaray District Governor Salih Kartal, and Chief Advisor to the President Gülşen Orhan visited the new facility under construction in the district. During the visit, the work at the construction site was inspected on-site and information was received from authorities.
High Production Capacity Targeted
The investment, planned to be among Europe's leading centers, will assume an important role in aquaculture. With the facility becoming operational, it is targeted to reach an annual production capacity of 300 million eggs and 100 million fry.
Genetic Lines and Employment
Thanks to the project, genetic lines compatible with Turkey will be obtained, creating a permanent broodstock development capacity. Furthermore, this major investment is expected to make a significant contribution to employment in the region.
