Agricultural Production Support Figures Updated in Turkey
Coefficients and premium payments in crop and livestock production have been increased to support producers against input costs.
Support figures provided for crop and livestock production in Turkey have been revised upward, with planned production support for lentils and chickpeas increasing by 141 percent, and herder support rising to 116,100 liras.
Support Coefficients Increased in Crop Production
The support coefficient value per decare in crop production has been raised from 310 liras to 367 liras for this year. Thus, the support coefficient per decare has increased by 50.4 percent.
For the 2027 production year supports, it is planned to increase this coefficient value to 442 liras.
Planned Production and Legume Supports
One of the highest increases in the new support package occurred in lentils and chickpeas. Support for these products within the scope of planning was increased by 141 percent to 884 liras per decare.
While the basic and planning support for sunflower, beans, soybean, and canola became 1,101 liras, it was determined as 734 liras for potatoes, onions, and safflower.
Livestock and Herder Support Payments
Bovine and ovine livestock supports were increased by 43 percent. The basic calf support was raised to 2,000 liras, and the water buffalo calf support to 4,000 liras.
While the basic lamb and kid support in ovine livestock rose to 430 liras, herder support also reached 116,100 liras.
Ministry Statement and Three-Year Planning
Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı announced that agricultural production planning supports are announced in three-year periods.
Minister Yumaklı stated that support amounts were updated in order to ease the burden on producers against rising input costs.
