The Antalya Chamber of Commerce and Industry's Professional Committee for Restaurant, Food and Beverage, and Entertainment Services has taken action to ensure that the music copyright discounts and conveniences applied to hotels are regulated to also cover restaurants, cafes, and entertainment venues.

Demand for Equality in Copyrights

The Antalya Chamber of Commerce and Industry demanded that the music copyright conveniences offered to accommodation facilities also be applied in restaurants and cafes.

Sector representatives stated that they do not avoid paying copyrights, but that the fees should be reduced to reasonable levels.

Difficulties Experienced During Inspections

Criticism was shared that inspections conducted at businesses take the form of surprise raids and damage their reputation.

Separate licensing demands from different professional associations create serious uncertainty and confusion for businesses.

Hotel Regulation Left Out of Scope

While thousands of facilities benefited from the new licensing system created in the past for hotels and accommodation facilities, restaurants were left out of scope.

ATSO has initiated initiatives before the ministry to correct this situation and adapt the accommodation model to the food and beverage sector.

Emphasis on a Single Umbrella and Single Price

It was stated that the different tariffs demanded by professional associations create high costs in total and strain businesses.

Sector representatives support giving artists their due rights while demanding a single price application under a single umbrella.
