The Insurance Association of Turkey announced its financial results for the first half of 2026. The sector's total asset size increased by 45 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, rising to 4.4 trillion TL.

Asset Size and Equity

According to the data shared by the Insurance Association of Turkey, the asset size of the insurance sector reached the level of 4.4 trillion TL in the first half of 2026.

In the same period, the sector's equity showed an increase of 58 percent and was recorded as 512 billion TL.

Period Net Profit and Financial Status

The sector's total net profit for the period in the first half of 2026 materialized as 103.6 billion TL, and these figures preserved the balance sheet structure.

IAT President Ahmet Yaşar stated that the announced figures carry great importance in terms of the sector's economic resilience.

Technical Loss and Developments

Excluding investment income in non-life insurance, the technical loss reached 45.3 billion TL and increased by 67 percent compared to the previous year.

With the support of investment income, the technical profit of the non-life sector materialized at the level of 75.9 billion TL.

Sustainable Profitability Target

Ahmet Yaşar emphasized that healthy pricing, effective risk management, and cost discipline will continue to be primary priorities.

It was stated that a strong insurance sector supports savings, paves the way for investments, and increases the resilience of the country's economy.
