Assets of Astor Enerji Owner Feridun Geçgel Seized Provisionally
Within the framework of an ongoing investigation, provisional measures were placed on the assets of over a hundred individuals and entities, including Feridun Geçgel and Enver Geçgel.
In line with a comprehensive investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the assets of 106 individuals and entities, including Astor Enerji owner Feridun Geçgel and his brother Enver Geçgel, were provisionally seized.
Details and Scope of the Investigation
The investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office covers allegations of laundering assets derived from crime and violations of the Capital Markets Law.
Within this scope, it was requested from the relevant institutions to apply provisional measures to the assets of 106 individuals and organizations, comprising a total of 42 real persons, 46 legal entities, and 18 funds.
Names Subject to the Injunction Decision
Among the names subject to the asset freeze are Feridun Geçgel, who ranked high on the list of Turkey's richest businesspeople announced in June, and his brother Enver Geçgel.
Feridun Geçgel also serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Fenerbahçe Futbol AŞ.
Share Transfers and Company Status
Astor Enerji had announced in a statement to KAP in June that a 20 percent stake belonging to Feridun Geçgel was transferred to Enver Geçgel through an intra-family transfer.
It was stated that the injunction decision is directly aimed at the assets of the Geçgel family, and it has not been verified that a separate injunction decision has been issued regarding Astor Enerji AŞ.
